About Cindy Hohl, President of the American Library Association

Cindy Hohl, MBA/MLIS, is a member of the Santee Sioux Nation and works as the director of policy analysis and operational support at the Kansas City Public Library. She is a past president of the American Indian Library Association (AILA) and works with librarians to share information across the globe as a member of the International Federation of Library Associations (IFLA) Indigenous Matters Section and in her work as Co-Chair on the Tribal Library Council for the Association of Tribal Archives, Libraries, and Museums (ATALM). With a passion for upholding Intellectual Freedom, Cindy serves as an ex-officio trustee on the executive board of the Freedom to Read Foundation and as a member of the Missouri Library Association Intellectual Freedom Committee. As a proud ALA Spectrum Scholar, she strives to increase diversity in the library field through mentorship, recruitment, and advocacy. Cindy is also the 2024-25 President of the American Library Association and the first Spectrum Scholar to be elected to the role. Cindy holds a Bachelor of Science degree from Friends University, a Master of Business Administration degree from Baker University, and a Master of Library and Information Science degree from Wayne State University.

About Chris Capizzi, Co-Owner of A Good Used Book

A Good Used Book is an AAPI-Owned independent bookstore selling New, Used and Vintage books. Starting in 2017 with wife Jenny and popping up in and around Los Angeles at Melrose Trading Post, Rose Bowl Flea Market, Grand Central Market, PF Candle and Brain Dead they have now found a home in Echo Park.

About Chris Taylor, Librarian at Los Angeles Public Library's Mark Twain Branch

Chris Taylor is a librarian at Los Angeles Public Library's Mark Twain Branch where, among other responsibilities, he leads the Sci-Fi Short Story Club. He attended CUNY's Graduate School of Library and Information Studies at Queens College and has over a decade of experience working in public, law, and specialty libraries.

About Tammy Garnes, Vice President, Education and Understanding, ARRAY

A graduate of the Peter Stark Producing Program at the University of Southern California, Garnes earned her Master of Arts Degree in Film Producing at USC and her Bachelor of Science in Education from Arkansas State University. Starting her career as a high school teacher in Little Rock, Arkansas, Tammy worked for ten years in Hollywood as a film producer and returned to the education sector in 2013, serving as Director of Communications for both the Atlanta and Marietta Public School Systems in Georgia. In 2019 Garnes returned to the film and television industry, merging her past careers. She now leads ARRAY's education and technology initiatives as VP of Education and Understanding, which include supporting the company's films with innovative Learning Companions and impact activations through ARRAY 101.
