ABOUT THE FILM
After the death of his father, T’Challa returns home to the African nation of Wakanda to take his rightful place as king. When a powerful enemy suddenly reappears, T’Challa’s mettle as king — and as Black Panther — gets tested when he’s drawn into a conflict that puts the fate of Wakanda and the entire world at risk. Faced with treachery and danger, the young king must rally his allies and release the full power of Black Panther to defeat his foes and secure the safety of his people.
ABOUT THE FILMMAKER
Ryan Coogler is an acclaimed American director, screenwriter, and producer known for films like FRUITVALE STATION, CREED, Marvel blockbusters BLACK PANTHER and BLACK PANTHER: WAKANDA FOREVER and most recently, SINNERS. He earned a finance degree at CSU Sacramento and later studied at the USC School of Cinematic Arts, where his short films gained recognition. Coogler’s work often draws inspiration from his Oakland upbringing and explores themes of social justice, community, and identity.
Screenings of THE BLACK PANTHERS: VANGUARD OF THE REVOLUTION (2015) and BLACK PANTHERS (1968) are also included in the day’s program. Please note: Each film screening will have a separate ticketed entry. Guests must RSVP and possess a ticket for each film in order to attend any of the three film screenings.
